Goodbye Diet Coke

After a more than ten year love affair, I have officially split from Diet Coke. I actually cut it out (cold turkey!) about two weeks ago, but I was sure it wouldn't last, so I didn't tell anyone.
Surprisingly, I feel great and I don't miss it.
I still have my coffee in the morning (K cup, International Delight creamer, and Splenda), but the rest of the day I just drink water. I put lemon or lime in it to make it taste better.
If I really need a treat, or something different, I have juice, or occasionally tea (I've been mixing sweet and unsweet, but just one glass and that is usually if I go in somewhere to pick up takeout for lunch).

I've lost about seven pounds in the last two or three weeks, and I am so happy. I was so unhappy with how I looked and how my clothes fit. I want to lose about ten more before the wedding.

  1. congrats, i'm 98% soda free. your right it does make a huge difference in how you feel.

  2. TEACH ME! Everybody says letting go of diet coke is huge, but I just can't. I'm not a coffee person so maybe that's why? HELP!

  3. I've never been a big Coke person. We didn't have it in our house growing up and have just never been big on it.

  4. I don't believe in banning anything completely but I have cut back on soda. I know it can be hard! Awesome job.

  5. I need to cut out soda but it's so hard. I'm down to just 1/2 of one a day. I put mint in my water to spice it up too!

  7. Oh shoooot! I quit drinking pretty much everything except water, green tea, and coffee. It's just easier that way ;) but I will have a diet coke if I'm feeling frisky
